the new site So I decided a while ago to put up a website. Then I found this nifty open source template online (info below). Now I'm trying to figure out what the heck to put in here. More to come later.

the template I think this template is pretty cool. I found it on OSWD.org, a site dedicated to open source website templates. Some of them are very cool, and this one was my favorite. I have tweaked the design a bit to suit my color preferences, and used one of Lindsay's photos for the header and footer, but it should still look quite a bit like the original: Reflection.

Open Source Web Design is a pretty cool concept, so if you like this, go check out fullahead.org -- the designer has a few more free templates and will design custom sites for a fee. It's nice work both visually and from a usability perspective.

the welded sky The header and footer are from an actual, undoctored photo that Lindsay took. I think it's pretty and thought-provoking.

You may wonder, if it's unaltered, why it looks like someone tore the picture apart and sewed it back together. All I will say is that this is a picture of a new, but already famous, Chicago landmark.
